Sahyadri wildlife sanctuary
Located in the dense forests in the Sahyadri range at an altitude ranging from 2100 ft to 3800 ft. This place is a delight for nature and adventure lovers. From flying squirrel to different types of deers, wild boars and leopards can be spotted here. Birds such as Malabar Whistling Thrush, Quaker Blabber, Hornbill, Jungle Fowl, Eagles are seen in this wild life sanctuary. An excellent place for trekking.
Hanuman Lake
This lake in Bhimashankar is a favourite picnic spot. Different species of birds and animals including squirrels can be spotted here.
Gupt Bheem
Another favourite tourist spot at approximately 3.5 kms from the temple. This is the place where river Bhima originates and where the original Shiva linga was located. A very cool place and a walk through dense forests gives an exhilarating experience.
Nagapani Point
A 2.5 kms trek from the Temple can lead to this marvellous point which is located around 120 kms from Pune. The view from Nagapani point is a breathtaking experience. Lush greenery and beautiful waterfalls on the way. This place can also be reached by a vehicle.
