Trybamkeshvar is located in Maharashtra in the temple town of Nasik. About 35 kms from the city of Nasik, atop the Brahmagiri hills, lies the temple of Tryambakeshwar, which literally means the abode of the three eyed one i.e. Lord Shiva.
This temple is located at the origin point of the largest river in India, the Godavari river. The uniqueness of this temple is that there are three lingams each representing Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva which lie in the hollow space within the main Shiva lingam.
Apart from this, this temple is famous for the Kumbh Mela, which is held once in twelve years. Sant Nivruttinath, elder brother of Sant Dnyaneshwar had taken Samadhi at Trimbakeshwar.
