Ellora Caves:
One of the most captivating ancient cave temples in India, believed to be created some 1500 years back, between 6th and 10th century CE. The Ellora caves are located near Bhadra Maruti temple, ahead of Hiranya Resorts, at a distance of 2 kms from the Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga temple. These caves present an enthralling sight to the visitors. In all there are about 34 caves which represent Buddhist, Hindu and Jain monuments and are carved from volcanic rocks. The most fascinating structure is the cave number 16 known as Kailasha believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva, it looks like a multistoried temple, but it is carved out of one rock. The magnificient Ellora caves were given the status of World Heritage Site in the year 1983.
Bhadra Maruthi temple
This Lord Hanuman temple is located at Khulabad, Aurangabad at a distance of 3.3 kms from Grishneshwar temple. The uniqueness of this temple is that the idol of Lord Hanuman is in reclining position. Huge crowd of people throng to the temple on the days of Hanuman Jayanti and Ram Navmi.
Daulatabad Fort
This fort is located at a distance of 10.2 kms from Grishneshwar temple and about 15 kms from the Aurangabad city. Built in the 12th century this fort is built on a 200 meter hill. It is one of the best preserved fort in India.
Jain Temple
Located at Kachner village, at a distance of 37 kms from Aurangabad. This temple is famous for the idol Chintamani Pashvanath installed in the temple, which was recovered from the underground basement about 250 years ago. Devotees from all over the country visit this temple known for its clean and serene environment. Close to this place is the Ajanta caves located at a distance of 30 kms.
Chini Mahal
Located at 13 kms from Aurangabad. Chini Mahal is inside the Daulatabad fort. The interior is made of blue and white tiles of Chini mitti, thus the name Chini Mahal. It has excellent architecture. It has 2 floors and was believed to be a prison in earlier times.
