This temple is located in the suburbs of Dwarka, a city located in Jamnagar, Gujarat. There is a huge idol of Lord Shiva the sight of which is breathtaking. Nageshwar temple is also known as Darukavana temple which is an ancient name for forest.
The lingam is made up of a special stone known as Dwarka stone, which has tiny wheel imprints on it. The lingam is facing southwards with the gomugam facing the east. There is a legend behind this. It is said that a devotee named Namdev was singing bhajans in front of the Lord.
This enraged the devotees who asked him to stand aside as they could not see the Lord. Namdev asked them to suggest one direction where he can stand. The devotees asked him to stand on the south side. To their astonishment they found the lingam facing the south and gomugam the east.
