Badrinath Temple
Located at 40 kms away from Kedarnath. This temple like Kedarnath remains closed for six months as the temple is covered with snow. During this period the diety Badrinath is shifted to Joshimath which is one of the monasteries of Adi Shankarcharya. Badrinath temple is one of the Char Dhams, visited by large numbers of pilgrims. The present temple is believed to be established by Adi Sankarcharya. The temple has beautiful view of the picturesque Himalayan mountain ranges.
Vasukhi Tal
Vasukhi Tal is a lake, 8 kms from Kedarnath. Located at an altitude of 4135 meters it is excellent range for trekkers. It gives an overwhelming view of the neighbouring Chaukhamba peaks
Sonprayag
A very beautiful place where two rivers Basuki and Mandakini meet. It is believed that Lord Shiva and Parvati got married at this place. Situated at a height of 1829 metres above sea level. It is located between Rudraprayag and Gaurikund. Gaurikund is a distance of 8kms from Sonprayag.
Chandrashila
Chandrashila is an excellent trekking destination at a height of 3679 metres. At the peak of the range there is a Lord Shiva temple. The trek to Chandrashila starts from Tungnath, a small village which is covered by forest full of pine and deodar trees. Along the trek one can view the scintillating Chaukhamba ranges and the valleys below.
Bhairav Nath Temple
This temple is located in the vicinity of Kedarnath temple. The temple deity is considered as the caretaker of Kedarnath.
